HI TUMBLR THIS IS WHY I HAVE BEEN OFFLINE
Two days ago, a 75 mph storm blazed through Ohio and took out half of the state’s power. I think 2/3 of the city is still out and we’re not expected to get power back until July 7th or 8th. The only places with power are the major malls and random other spots in the city. Even the main thorough-fairs are all out of power.I’ve never seen a hurricane, but I’m fairly certain what we saw the other night when this thing came through was as close to a hurricane as I’ll ever experience. As you can see in the above photos, a HUGE FUCKING TREE fell right on top of my neighbor’s living room (she’s trying to sell her house, too, so this is really awful timing for her, poor thing. her living room ceiling is ruined). When it fell, it took out the entire power line the runs a group of ten houses around us. It might take them even longer to get our power up because they have to get rid of that damn fucking tree before they can even get to the powerline :(
As for me, I have not slept in two days. I have very sensitive sleeping patterns in general, and usually need it to be very cool (or cold) in order to sleep, and, well…last night it was 85 degrees in my room, and I was soaked with sweat the entire night. I tried to sleep downstairs where my dad was sleeping (it’s cold down there, which is fortunate for all of the food we have stocked up), but dad snores so fucking loud that that was no use, either.
…so yeah, no sleep for the last two days. I am running on caffeine and that is literally it.
Sam and I found a Starbucks with power so we are sitting here charging cell phones and computers and iPads and drinking lots of coffee. Yesterday I spent the day at Easton with my boyfriend and we ran into Drill, Swoz, Meesh, Citadel, Mal, and Ali, who were all there escaping their own over-heated, un-powered houses.
…it’s been a ridiculous two days, and it’s only going to keep going for another week like this x_x It’s so fucking hot, I just want to die.
